MONTE SUBASIO (1290MT) above ASSISI, now a regional Park, can be reached from Assisi or Spello. The area where Saint Francis walked is much the same as it was almost 800 years ago. A fun hike with view of the most beautiful mountain ranges in Umbria with a sensational panorama of Spello. Start out walking from Spello and descend on the other side down to Assisi. VALNERINA the mystical lure of the hidden VALNERINA VALLEY between ASSISI and SPOLETO is legendary for its beauty. Aside from nature walks and hikes, many other outdoor sports can be practiced: fishing, mountain biking and climbing, just to name a few. For people in search of romance there is... SAN VALENTINO a tiny hill town tugged into the mountains and visited by lovers in search of Valentine’s Day ,every day!
BEVAGNA to MONTEFALCO Walking or cycling to Montefalco to visit and admire the recently restored frescos of Benozzo Gozzoli at the Montefalco church museum. PASSIGNANO to TUORO sul/TRASIMENO On foot or by bike to study the path of HANNIBAL crossing the mountains above TUORO and defeating the Roman legions by strategically pushing them into LAGO TRASIMENO.
BEVAGNA: the entire town of BEVAGNA is a medieval treasure. Guided tours can be arranged with our friend Prof. Piatti.
